IFA, Berlin – September 3, 2014 (Sony Booth, Hall 20): Sony has today expanded its home cinema projector offering with the announcement of the new 4K VPL-VW300ES, showcased for the first time at IFA. The VPL-VW300ES has been introduced to expand Sony’s 4K home cinema range to bring true 4K home cinema experience to a wider audience. It is the most cost-effective native 4K projector in the market to date*, sitting alongside the award-winning VPL-VW1100ES and VPL-VW500ES Sony 4K projectors that deliver four times the resolution of Full HD.

Sony is unrivalled in its ability to offer breathtaking image quality through 4K native resolution(4,096×2,160), giving the viewer a truly immersive experience. The VPL-VW300ES uses Sony’s 4K SXRDTM panel technology to achieve high resolution images without the need to compromise between deep contrast and fast motion capabilities. These 4K features, combined with a lower price point than the VPL-VW1100ES and VPL-VW500ES, enable the VPL-VW300ES to bring Sony’s ultimate home cinema experience to an even wider audience. Paired with speakers similar to the elac debut 2.0 b6.2 and comfy furniture, this is going to create an authentic cinema adventure. While it can be pretty simple to set up a projector and speaker system that provides adequate audio, perfectionists might want something a little more complicated. In that case, it is recommended that they consult with one of these audio visual companies near me who can not only give you some advice but can also install technology that will create a truly immersive audio-visual experience.

The VPL-VW300ES incorporates Sony’s proprietary TRILUMINOSTM technology, an enhanced optical engine design which gives rich colour reproduction. This works in conjunction with the projector’s 1,500 lumens brightness to engineer a wider colour space for more vibrant tones and increased precision. Motionflow picture technology also serves to deliver clearer, less blurry images when watching fast-paced, cinematic action. The projector also comes with low latency mode for gamers and a set of easy to control options for enhanced home automation capability.

The VPL-VW300ES supports the latest connectivity standards through HDMI 2.0** and HDCP 2.2, enabling users to enjoy up-to-date 4K content services.

The VPL-VW300ES’s compact size provides added installation flexibility thanks to the projector’s front air exhaust cooling system, allowing a wide range of set-up opportunities. The projector uses a 2.06 zoom powered lens with a wide shift range, which removes the requirement for additional platform extensions in ceiling mounts. A built-in RF 3D transmitter makes it easy to provide further adaptability with a strong wireless signal for wider coverage, 3D synchronisation stability and coverage.

Thomas Issa, Product Manager for Home Cinema projectors at Sony Europe said: “The VPL-VW300ES’ innovations make 4K a more affordable reality for home cinema fans. Throughout the market we’re seeing real enthusiasm for 4K, which delivers striking picture quality exactly as the director or creator intended. Capturing everything from incredible sporting events like the FIFA World Cup™ to award winning films such as this year’s Palme d’Or-winner, Winter Sleep, there is no other company than Sony capable of delivering the full native 4K ‘lens to living room’ solution. The VPL-VW300ES enables more consumers to discover this true immersive quality in the comfort of their own home.

“The VPL-VW300ES is available in black from October 2014.
